10 Steps To Online Success

Achieving online success is like achieving success in anything. You need to get a plan, do your research apply massive action, tweak the plan and offer exceptional customer service. So where do you start?

1. Define your goals

What are you trying to achieve? Do you want to make a quick $1000 or an ongoing income stream? You want to write and define your goals as clearly as possible. This shouldn’t take more than a day so don’t spend a whole month writing a beautiful plan as you can always go back to it. It should highlight where you may have weaknesses and you should aim to mitigate these before you get started as they may trip you up later on.

2. What are you passionate about?

This is the one most people skip over as they have already found a product or service they want to market. Part of your success is going to be about establishing yourself as an expert in your chosen field. It’s far easier to be an expert if you are truly passionate about what the product or service that is going to be your vehicle to online success.

3. Do your research – find the hungry audience

Don’t skip this part in your pursuit of online success! What are the problems your potential customers experiencing, as you will want to help solve them. Go and research the forums your customers frequent and start understanding their problems.

4. Do your research – marketing avenues

Where do your customers hang out online? Wherever they are that’s where your advertising and presence needs to be. Your online success will be dependant on how well you know your customers and how well you fulfil their needs. You can only do this if your message meets them.

5. Set up the buying process

Put your self in the customers shoes and make sure that from the point they come into contact with to the point where they receive their goods/service is smooth as possible. So many sales are lost and online success failure surrounds a badly designed sales process. Get this part right!

6. Apply massive action

Once you have your plan in place and are confident about your research go and apply massive action. This needs to be consistent and not a flash in the pan approach. Online success is achieved when you use a variety of advertising tools at the same time. When one goes slow the others will make up for it.

7. Test your results

Test, test and test. I can’t emphasise this enough. You will not achieve online success unless you have the means to test your marketing.

8. Amend you plan based on test and repeat

Once you have tested amend your plans. Do more of the methods that are bringing you results and turn off the methods that are doing nothing.

9. Provide outstanding levels of customer service

Have you ever gone back to a shop or restaurant purely because you were made to feel special? It’s nice isn’t it. To achieve online success you need to make all your visitors and customers feel that way.

10. Establish customer loyalty

Online success is achieved through over delivering on everything you provide to your customers. Turn visitors into lifelong partners and you are guaranteed success online.
