How Often Do You Listen To The Calls?

Did you listen to the training calls this weekend? Do you listen to the opportunity calls in the UK or the US? Do you listen to the faculty calls or the new Leadership series calls?

If the answer is no to some, or even all, of the above then you are missing a large piece of the success jigsaw. I can tell you this, not because its what the leaders say and I am repeating them, but because when I started I didn’t listen either!

That’s right, when I first started I may have listened to one or two calls and then decided that I knew what was in them now so why carry on listening. You may have heard the phrase staying close to the campfire. Well to be honest when I started I just thought that was just good marketing spin and I didn’t need that.

When I started my business it started well and I thought, there you go I knew I could do just fine without listening in on all the calls. Sure enough I got to counsellor with no trouble at all and went on to be one of the Top 10 recruiters and things were great. Then something strange happened, when I tried to help my team to duplicate my success nothing worked. I couldn’t understand what was wrong. I was pulling my hair out, asking my upline support team ‘what more can I do?’

It was at this point they said ‘John, we don’t see you on the calls much, why is that?’ Well I had no answer so from that point forward I made a commitment to be on as many calls as possible from then on in. Then something strange started to happen, not obvious at the time but with the benefit of hindsight it is very clear.

I started to actually engage with other people in Success University outside of my team. I was asked to provide testimonies on both the UK and US calls. I was also invited to join the UK Leadership Team and before I knew it I was actually hosting the calls. However more important than all of that was that when I was listening into a call I had made some friends and we started to Instant Messaging each other via Skype during the call.

I don’t think any of us actually realised how powerful a support system this was going to be. Think about it, when you start this business you’re on your own, you have your upline support team and anyone you come into contact with when your prospecting. Apart from opportunity meetings and conferences it can get a little lonely sometimes.

Imagine the difference when you know that when you call into an opportunity call there will be one of your friends and support team there with you. This has made a massive difference for me personally as I am around like-minded people every day. In addition, we had two new people join in our conversations who have now both become counsellors. The interesting thing was I talking to them both separately last night and they said that if it hadn’t been for the help and encouragement they got on these chats there were times they may have walked away.

I haven’t even mentioned the actual calls yet either! Ned Rae took time out of a big conference he was attending with the likes of Jim Rohn to still make the training call. He said simply too many people relied on the call for him to cancel it. Talk about putting himself out for everyone! Have a think about the reasons you cant make the call and compare it to Ned’s commitment to you.

Chris and Julie’s call was another made by taking time away from the same conference. They had been truly inspired by their attendance and shared some of the magical thoughts they had come away with. I have to say with true sincerity that during that call I had an amazing ‘AHA’ moment. It blew my head away, I was so excited I shared it with the friends I was chatting on Skype with, I shared it with Chris and Julie and it has totally focussed my way forward in life not just with Success university.

The point is guys how close to the campfire are you. What is preventing you from listening into some of the calls? What do you want out of your business?
