Goals

While I have been away I wanted to ensure I took some time out to reflect on what I wanted from life and how I was going to achieve them. Karen had sent me a commitment form which is a good way to focus the mind as it asks WHY you want to do it first. I understand from past experience that if your WHY is not strong enough then chances are that when things get tough you may give up when you are close to succeeding.

Here are my WHY's that I recorded at that point.

  1. This is my last chance - it must work!!!
  2. When I look at Jade (my daughter) I know how much I want to provide a magical life for her.
  3. To enjoy the freedom of working when I want and where I want - this business will enable me to spend quality time with Jade while she is still young.
  4. I love to travel the world - this business will enable me to do that multiple times per year
  5. I want to use the skills I already have and learn new ones to enable me to be the best in my field.

As soon as I get back home I will fax to all my upline support team. In addition I will also fax my $2 invoice to Success University to activate my account.

My First Premium Member

Well the holiday is nearing the end but when I processed my emails this morning there was that lovely message again 'Way to go John, you just enrolled someone!'. However this time when I went to place them in my back office I was blown away to see they had signed up as a premium member just like me!! I am so glad I got all this going before I went on holiday as I can really feel things moving and I haven't even set up my office space at home.

I make a note to thank Karen and Chris for encouraging me to get started straight away.

My First Sign Up!

What a way to start the day! I have just logged on to process my leads when I notice a different message in my in box 'Way to go John, you have just enrolled someone!'. I couldn't believe it, I mean I am on holiday, I am not really sure what I am doing yet here I am with my first sign up into the business. Fantastic!!

I send all my support an excited email and also send my new member a welcome e-mail explaining I am on holiday but will call him when I get back but if he has any questions he can email me or call one of my (and now his) upline support team.

Breakfast was extra special this morning.....

Holiday is great!

We have managed to pick a fantastic resort in Spain which is their equivalent (although much smaller!) Disney Land. It is a fantastic hotel that is really geared up for families and we are loving it. Lovely weather, fantastic food, great complex and free access to the theme park which is just on the doorstep.

I am an early bird which is great as it means I have been able to process my leads and follow up on my marketing every morning before breakfast. Even though its all new to me it doesn't take me more than 30 minutes each morning and I am getting quicker and quicker! Its amazing seeing all these people who have looked at my website while I have been asleep, I am starting to understand how this opportunity is going to allow me to earn while I sleep!!

Oh well back to the sun and the pool!!

First Steps

I have worked through my back office checklist and I am very impressed with the support structure that is in place, I literally have someone I can call on any hour of the day or night! I go on a 2 week family vacation and I cant make up my mind whether I should start promoting my business before I go away or wait until I get back.

I gave Karen a call and we had a 3 way conversation with her and Chris Chojnowski (my upline Director from Boston) and they were really great. Obviously I could wait until I got back but if I get things going now I would come back to a busy business instead of one that's just starting out. So decision made!! They showed me how to set up my Internet marketing campaign, my autoresponders etc (To be honest I wasn't too sure what all this meant as it was all very new to me but I trusted what they said and just did as I was told!!). I would never have been able to set any of that up without their support, they really made it very simple.

So my marketing is all set up and all that's left to do is pack!!

Starting Out

11th August 2006

My name is John O'Driscoll and I live in Coventry, West Midlands in the United Kingdom. For the past 15 years I have been a Senior Manager for an International Examinations Board where I was responsible for the development of a team of over 100 and the accurate delivery of over 1 million candidate achievements per year. I loved my work but it came at a huge cost. It meant very long days and the small time I got to spend with my family I would usually be very tired and to be honest not much fun!!

So I made a life changing decision that I would resign and find a business that I could work around my family instead of wrapping them around my work schedule. I sat down and started to construct a criteria for the type of business I wanted to run. It had to:

  • Have a low start up and ongoing cost
  • Flexible enough for me to work it around my family (not them fitting around my busy schedule)
  • Did not require me to fill my house full of products!
  • Did not require me to be a salesman
  • Would develop me as an individual
  • Would provide an opportunity to improve other peoples well being
  • Was simple to run
  • Could be run from home without needing any specialist equipment
  • Would allow me to work and interact with like minded people
  • Had a payment structure that would allow me to earn 6 figures or more per annum

As you can see I didn't want much!! It was important for me to set this criteria as I knew once I started looking it would be easy to get lost in the masses of opportunities and slick sales copy that is out there.

I actually found Success University by accident on a property investment forum that I had started reading. I read about someone's experience with Success University and once I started to read about the opportunity I could start to see this was something I could work from home and ticked every box of my selection criteria. I started getting excited.

There is an option to join the program for FREE for 14 days and all you need to do is make a $2 donation to Feed The Children. I really liked that part as I could see I could promote this and it would have a positive impact on a charity that was close to my heart.

I decided to go straight for the premium option as I was serious about making this work. Not only did I get double the level of commissions on all my earnings but I aslo got over $800 in free bonuses for a one time investment of $149.95 - it was just a no brainer!

So I was in and straight away I was impressed, and a little overwhelmed, at the amount of information that I had at my fingertips. I knew I didn't want to get bogged down in things so I called my sponsor, Karen Leslie, and she explained how to run the business step by step and this really saved me days as it was very simple.

So my business is off the ground!!
